The Software-as-a-Service industry must be looked at seriously by the rest of the world, and for many reasons beyond speculation.

First, it's the same industry affected most by the Internet bubble era, and therefore has been the black sheep of the IT industry when it comes to VC money. We all remember when the term ASP (as in Application Service Provider) comes along, it usually strikes in our minds, more often than not; a picture of a failing business with a worthless business model, doesn't? This sector has been neglected.
